Corporate Retreat Facilitator Toronto

EST. 2010

You won't really know what our programs are all about until you try one, but if you need a few reasons to make the call,

here you go. If Improv seems out of your comfort zone, just think about how uncomfortable you are when you’re stuck in the past or anxious about the future. Now imagine you could adapt to change without sweating, live in the moment and respond more positively when you're thrown a curve ball. Not to turn this into psychobabble, but Cognitive Behavioural Therapy also keeps us "present" by shifting our perspective when we have negative thoughts; and who doesn't have those from time to time.

Bottom line,  whether you take a class or want one-on-one coaching, you'll become more self-aware, confident, enhance your relationships, alleviate stress AND have a good time.

So get in touch. There’s no time like the present!

Make the idea of ‘Change” fuel you, strengthen resilience & spontaneity

Whether you want to: Make videos or speeches that sound more conversational, ace an interview, improve your communication skills break up the monotony of the week, network,

or have a laugh.

IMPROV PARTIES

If you’re looking for fun, creative, interactive ways to celebrate, try a Playworks Party!

Whether it's a Birthday, Anniversary, Jack & Jill or Office party, you’ll have a ton of laughs playing improv games. We personalize your party with any theme you want.

We also offer Singles & Couples improv nights.

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING

Spontaneity & confidence are key if you want to overcome stage fright, get tongue tied when you're on camera or lack the ability to engage your audience. We use Improv & CBT to explore ways to eliminate negative body language & nervous speech patterns. You’ll improve self-assurance and the ability to create excitement, every time you speak.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUERIES

DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE?

Imagine learning to swim without going in the pool. The learning is in the doing BUT no need to dive right in, newbies  are welcome to dip their feet in slowly.

HOW WILL PLAYING GAMES HELP ME REACH MY GOALS?

It's less about games and more about the rules of the games. Listening, making your partner look good, saying YES so someone else's idea, no over-thinking your responses are all helpful tools for every aspect of your life.

WHAT IF I'M NOT FUNNY?

Improv isn’t about trying to be funny. The funny comes when you’re not overthinking your response and you just say the first thing that comes to you in the moment.

WHY WOULD I COME TO A SINGLES NIGHT AND RISK MAKING A FOOL OUT OF MYSELF?

Because we all know the benefits of not taking ourselves too seriously.  Plus, showing a little vulnerability & confidence is attractive.  None of us are perfect so we encourage you to embrace mistakes.

Now is your chance to start IMPROVing!

After I sent the newsletter to my subscribers, I figured I’d share it here too as a demo for people who need to create video content. I always admit I'm uncomfortable talking to a screen (I feed off people) but when it has to be done:

*Write what you want to say in point form

*Tell your story like you're talking to someone who wants to hear it.

*If a new idea comes to you, say it. It's likely a more genuine way to express yourself.

I'd typically a few takes to improve the dialogue, eye line, sound & lighting BUT am I being me? am I comfortable? Is my message clear? Start there. IMHO now its not the time to worry about perfection. Hopefully we've all become a bit more "forgiving" and I know video is daunting for many.

"I attended a Singles improv night with Lori. It was one of the most fun activites I've done in a long time. Lori is supportive, engaging, and a great teacher. By the end of the night everyone had left their inhibitions behind and were laughing the faces off. I highly recommend a class with Lori and can't wait to attend one again.
